Dear All,

Yes, I’ve been updating this blog not-at-all, so this post is like closing the gate after the horse has gone off, yes, but still: I now post regularly, along with my fellow Upstart Crow Literary agents, on our company blog. If you are at all interested in hearing what I’ve got to say, that is the place to go.

Thanks for reading As the World Stearns, and I’ll see you in my new home!

This be the welcome mat. Please wipe your feet.

I am a literary agent specializing in children’s books. Before I took on this job, I was an editorial director for a major publisher, and I have worked in various capacities in publishing for the past eighteen years. I may know a thing or three about children’s books.

Regardless, I thought I’d create a place where I can post talks I deliver, fulminate about books or about agenting, and basically twitter about whatever else occurs to me. Give people a sense of how one agent looks at the world of publishing.

I hope it goes without saying that nothing I say here is endorsed by the agency at which I work, and the opinions expressed are solely those of my overheated head.

Welcome!
